Each year, seven trillion dollars are invested in activities that directly harm the nature and biodiversity upon which everyone depends.

We must stop biting the hand that feeds us.

Instead, we must back the Global Biodiversity Framework with real funds.

Redirect harmful financing to pro-nature, pro-poor practices – in our fields, our oceans and our cities.

Invest in restoring ecosystems and habitats.

And account for the world’s dependence on nature in national and corporate balance sheets.

Investments in nature and biodiversity are investments in humanity’s future.

The newly launched Cali Fund is a strong step in the right direction.

So, on World Wildlife Day, let us scale up investments to meet our international commitments on nature.
