Der Tag der Arzneipflanze ist eine Initiative der Gesellschaft für Phytotherapie. Er soll bewusst machen, dass Heilen mit Arzneipflanzen und pflanzlichen Arzneimitteln eine moderne, wirksame und wissenschaftlich belegbare Therapie ist.

Direction to Mevagissey Lighthouse Quay Car Park:
Follow the one-way system into the heart of the village and proceed along Church Street. When you reach the cobbled area on the left, follow those cobbles until the harbour appears in front of you. Turn right at this point (straight ahead is private parking) and go straight on. About 50 yards past the jetty, on your right you will find the parking bays for disabled drivers. Bearing left you will pass the Toilets and then the Aquarium, after which you may park in any of the areas indicated above.

You can drive straight onto the harbour. There are some 60++ parking spaces. There is a ticket machine in the main parking area and your payment allows you to park either there, on your right after the Aquarium, or on the Lighthouse Quay itself. Please bring coins for parking.

On World Wildlife Day, Doopsgezind Amsterdam is organizing an inspiring lecture about birds in Amsterdam.

The lecture will be given by Arjan Dwarshuis and Gisbert van Baalen from the Vogelspotcast. In this popular podcast, Arjan (world record holder in birdwatching) and Gisbert share stories and anecdotes about birds.

During the lecture, various topics will be discussed. Using examples from the city – from house sparrow to peregrine falcon – they will highlight how birds adapt to urban life, which species are thriving, which are under pressure, and why city birds are so important for Amsterdam’s biodiversity. They will also discuss what we as residents can do to support birds and their habitats, for example through green gardens, biodiversity on balconies, and other places in the city.

In addition, Gisbert will highlight bird stories from the Bible, in which birds often symbolize freedom, protection, and care for creation. He will show how these stories can inspire us to pay attention to the birds around us and how we can help preserve their habitat in the city.

“In Amsterdam, we notice that some bird species are disappearing or that their migration patterns are changing. During the lecture, we will look at what we can do to help birds and their habitats in the city.”

Online event in collaboration between SPREP and IUCN Medicinal Plants Specialist Group

“OneHealthMedPlants: Sustainable Use of Medicinal Plants for One Health” is a scientific event dedicated to highlighting the role of medicinal plants within the One Health framework, integrating human, animal, and environmental health. The event will feature oral presentations and poster sessions presenting ongoing research in the fields of medicinal plants, phytochemistry, bioactivity, and sustainability.

World Wildlife Day 2026 is celebrated on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, with the theme "Medicinal and Aromatic Plants: Conserving Health, Heritage and Livelihoods," focusing on the vital role these plants play in human health, culture, and economies. With the Rose Flag CCL by Selva Ozelli the Putnam History Museum celebrates Roses which are a symbol of the USA, NY State and are commercialized are heavily commercialized in Turkey, especially in the Isparta region, a major global hub for producing rose oil, water, and various rose-based products like cosmetics, Turkish delight, and even fresh cut roses for export, leveraging the highly-prized Damascene rose for its rich fragrance and extracts. Turkey is a top global supplier, and its industry supports local economies through cultivation, harvesting, and processing.

Our system is built exclusively around medicinal plants as complete living biological systems, based on the principle of developing, conserving, and delivering the entire holobiont. Our mission is to protect virgin species (including 12 endemic and 2 allogenic species) while educating communities and offering them development opportunities.
Implemented and Functional Milestones:
In just one year of activity, through active partnerships with the Vâlcea Agricultural Directorate, the Faculty of Pharmacy (UMF Craiova), and the Bucharest Metropolitan Library, we have established:
Infrastructure: 2,000 sqm of protected greenhouses and 1,000 sqm of open-field comparative plots.
Research: Applied study of 14 medicinal plant species (Carpathian wild ecotypes collected from pristine areas like Polovragi and 2 acclimated allogenic species).
Operational Chain: Wild seed collection → Controlled cultivation → Systematic study → Reversible conservation of holobionts at ambient temperature via the original "Sarcophagus Method" → 100% natural enzymatic bioconversion.
Impact: In 2025, over 180 students participated in our non-curricular educational activities.
What Makes Us Unique:
No other NGO in the world operates this complete circuit for medicinal plants. We treat the plant at every stage as a holobiont: intact microbiome, active native enzymes, and preserved biological matrix. This is not just a laboratory, a seed bank, or a processing unit—it is all of them integrated into a single applied concept.

The NGO Beica Mădulari RO develops the only integrated system applied to medicinal plants, a complete circuit from wild seed, study, conservation of virgin species (12 endemic and 2 allogeneic) through cultivation, conservation, processing to the natural bioenzymatic product, this system is built exclusively around medicinal plants as complete living biological systems, based on the principle of development, conservation and delivery of the entire holobiome, all with the ultimate goal of disseminating knowledge and educating communicators by offering the chance for their development.
What is implemented and functional:
In a year of activity through active partnerships with the Vâlcea Agricultural Directorate, the Faculty of Pharmacy - University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Craiova and the Bucharest Metropolitan Library on scientific educational coordination activities, we managed to establish a material base (2000 sqm of protected spaces and 1000 sqm of free spaces for comparative culture) of culture and to implement a concept applied to 14 species of medicinal plants in applied study - wild Carpathian ecotypes collected from virgin areas (mostly from Polovragi) and allogeneic species (2 species) in acclimatization. A complete operational chain applied exclusively to medicinal plants: wild seed collection, controlled cultivation in greenhouses, systematic study of species and ecotypes, reversible preservation of holobionts at ambient temperature by the Sarcophagus Method (original), 100% natural enzymatic bioconversion, education and dissemination of knowledge through observations and applied studies provided free of charge – in 2025 over 180 students participated in extracurricular events and activities.
What makes this unprecedented for an NGO: no other non-governmental entity in the world dealing with medicinal plants operates the complete circuit - from wild seed to natural bioenzymatic final product - treating the plant at every stage as a holobiont: intact microbiome, active native enzymes, preserved biological matrix. This is not a laboratory, not a seed bank, not a processing unit. It is all of this, integrated under a single applied concept, in a single location, strictly on medicinal plants.

To celebrate the World Wildlife Day, we are creating a wild herb garden on our grounds for local schools. On March 3rd, we will present these species and their uses via the social network "Nebenann.de".

Our goal is to empower youth to design "nature-positive" communities where coastal restoration and wildlife health are the foundations of regional resilience. Rooted in the rich soil of our heritage and driven by the urgency of the climate crisis, our work for World Wildlife Day 2026 reclaims the narrative of Cambodian conservation. We believe that protecting our wildlife is an act of preserving our identity. As youth leaders, we bridge the gap between local ecological wisdom and international climate standards, demonstrating that the protection of Cambodia's 'Blue Carbon' sinks is a vital contribution to the global fight for a cooler, greener planet.

Resulting from an immersive study of the Kampot wetlands, this landmark project represents the first youth-driven collaboration between the Future Climate Heroes and The Verdant Botany. By synthesising technical expertise with local ecological knowledge, the initiative addresses the intersection of cultural heritage and environmental stewardship through two core pillars:

1. The Heritage Narrative (Visual Advocacy) An educational poster, "Medicinal and Aromatic Plants: Conserving Health, Heritage, and Livelihoods," which highlights the coastline as a "living pharmacy" essential to both cultural identity and economic stability.

2. Digital Masterclass (Capacity Building): A session titled "Biodiverse Urbanism: Wildlife Health & Eco-Tourism as a Shield Against the Illegal Trade." It focuses on youth-led community engagement and sustainable eco-tourism as powerful economic alternatives to the illegal wildlife trade (1st March 1-2 PM).

This World Wildlife Day (March 3rd), go on a virtual journey through the breathtaking Swiss Mountains. Led by a teacher with over 20 years of experience, this pre-recorded field trip invites you to "come along" and see the world through a nature-positive lens.

As we witness the shift from winter to spring, we explore what it means to be a Mindful Explorer. This session puts wildlife at the heart of our actions, reminding us that whenever we step outside, we are guests in someone else's home.

What’s Included in the Journey:
The 5 Pillars of Mindful Exploration: Practical tips to ensure we are considerate adventurers (from staying on paths to being "nature detectives").

The Science of the Season: Observing the transition from snow to sprout and what that means for our local animal life.

A Story of Hibernation: A special segment to help children connect with their "wild neighbours"—learning about those waking up from a winter's sleep and those who have been active all year round.

As in past years, we nature lovers and grassroots at CIEDM are to hold a single local event to support and take part in the celebrations of two global awareness campaigns – the UN World Seagrass Day and World Wildlife Day, at the Arcadia Ecohome Miocroforest. Our actions include event registrations, cleanups of the Microforest and surrounding public properties such as street roadways and parkways, specifically the Ecohome’s Ocean Friendly Garden to reduce stormwater and plastic pollution in waterways and waterbodies, a citizen-science based bioblitz walk at and around the Microforest to enjoy, record and share any spotting, and a social media campaign for the two UN campaigns to raise public awareness of the campaign messages and what we grassroots are doing.

Wildlife Jewels® is hosting a free World Wildlife Day celebration featuring wildlife-inspired art, hands-on learning, and native planting for pollinators. The event includes a Wildlife Jewels fine art & fashion exhibit highlighting wildlife from around the world—including the Persian leopard, African white rhino, Antarctic krill, raccoon, monarch butterfly, and more—plus a community painting activity, conservation partner exhibits, and short talks focused on protecting wildlife locally and worldwide.

I am a Senior Lecturer and an environmentalist with special interest on the effect of Climate change on Biodiversity and the Patron of the Environment Club at Shanzu Teachers Training College in the Coastal city of Mombasa , in Kenya, on the Eastern part of Africa.
The teacher trainees shall display different potted medicinal and aromatic plants, with the local and scientific name attached. in groups. Each group shall explain the medicinal or aromatic value of their plant. we shall then discuss the challenges in conservation and how it can be improved.
We shall also discuss an Event organized by Kenya Wild Life Services , named, Global Conservation Tech and Drone Forum (GCTDEF 2026) exploring the use of tech in conservation.

In 2026, World Wildlife Day (WWD2026) will shine a spotlight on the critical role of medicinal and aromatic plants.

Medicinal and aromatic plants (MAPs) are essential for both human health and ecological balance. Around the world, people collect and use MAPs, including roses, hydrangeas and hummingbirds are primarily attracted to the vibrant colors of roses and hydrangeas rather than their nectar. Hydrangea root (Hydrangea arborescens) is primarily used in traditional herbal medicine as a diuretic and to support urinary tract health, particularly for managing kidney stones, bladder infections, and gravel. Its compounds, such as coumarin, offer anti-inflammatory effects. It is commonly consumed as teas, tinctures, or capsules.

Environmental & Public Health International (EPHI) is celebrating World Wildlife Day 2025 with the launch of a new update to its multilingual Lead Service Line Replacement Cost Calculator (LSLRCC), a free, open-access modeling tool that helps communities, utilities, and governments plan equitable and cost-effective lead service line replacement projects.

Recognized by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the LSLRCC demonstrates how investing in people and planet can advance both public health and ecosystem resilience. In celebration of World Wildlife Day 2025, SD11 Youth Community is proud to announce the launch of our flagship initiative, 'Youth Urban Ecosystems.' This program will empower youth collaboration at local, national, regional, and global levels to build, preserve and strengthen sustainable urban ecosystems. This initiative will specifically focus on fauna and flora enrichment within cities, urban forests, and green implementation spearheaded by youth. Building on our participation in the World Wildlife Day Regional Youth Symposium 2025 and our panel discussion, “Building Healthier Urban Communities through Green and Public Spaces,” at the Phnom Penh Houseplant Festival on March 1st and 2nd respectively, we are prioritising this project as a key initiative. To further engage youth, we will launch a “7-day campaign”, beginning today, to share seven youth perspectives on their role in protecting and promoting urban ecosystems.

Through Golden Karma Trail Tails, Spirit, our Golden Retriever mascot, brings viewers on his golden energy journey to share inspiring tales from the natural world. Through Spirit, one gets to learn about and experience the healing and restorative effects of nature by taking a virtual walk in the woods, meeting Spirit's many friends, and soaking in the positive energies found in the wild.

On World Wildlife Day, Spirit will share a short video in which he talks about the various animals in the wild – from bees to whales – who make a significant contribution to the greater good and how biodiversity is essential to maintain our planet's health. See link to video in "link" field.

On World Wildlife Day (March 3), Save the Habitat Foundation is organizing an event to raise awareness about the wildlife of the Salt Range and pothohar. Wildlife experts from STHF and the Salt Range will join a live session to discuss conservation efforts. The event will also feature a tree plantation drive and a special video presentation showcasing the region’s diverse wildlife.

This World Wildlife Day, we highlight the urgent and pervasive challenge of wildlife crime. Illegal wildlife trade is a multi-billion-dollar industry, driven by demand for exotic pets, traditional medicine, luxury goods, and trophies. Weak legal frameworks, corruption, and inadequate enforcement allow traffickers to operate with impunity, while limited resources hinder conservation efforts in the fight against poaching and trafficking.

The transnational nature of wildlife crime complicates enforcement, with online platforms further enabling anonymous illegal trade. Meanwhile, habitat destruction from deforestation and climate change, along with human-wildlife conflict, pushes communities toward poaching, accelerating species decline. Despite these many challenges, we are successfully combatting many illegal wildlife trade efforts.

To explore this critical issue, we are joined by two distinguished experts: John E. Scanlon, an international environmental leader with a distinguished career in law, policy, and conservation, and Prof. Phill Cassey, head of the Wildlife Crime Research Hub at the University of Adelaide. Together, they will help unravel the complexities of this global crisis.

On 20 December 2013 at the 68th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), March 3 was declared United Nations World Wildlife Day (WWD). This day holds significance as the day that the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) was signed in 1973.
People everywhere rely on wildlife and biodiversity-based resources to meet our needs - from food, to fuel, medicines, housing, and clothing. For us to enjoy the benefits and the beauty that nature brings us and our planet, people have been working together to make sure ecosystems are able to thrive and plant and animal species are able to exist for future generations.
In 2025, World Wildlife Day is be celebrated under the critical theme of "Wildlife Conservation Finance: Investing in People and Planet."
On 3 March 2025 FAO Liaison Office with the Russian Federation together with UNEP and the National Committee of the UN Decade for Ecosystems Restoration in Russia organizes a press conference at TASS News Agency and a conference at the UN House in Moscow.

World Wildlife Day 2025 was celebrated by Nandankanan on 3rd March 2025. As the day commenced on a Monday which is a closing day for visitors to the zoo, Nandankanan celebrated the program at Government U G High School Phulapokhari, Baranga, Cuttack as an outreach program. Various programs like wildlife talk focusing on this year’s theme, origami, quizzes, puzzles, storytelling, slogan competition were conducted.
Education wing of Nandankanan along with Zoo Volunteers conducted the Outreach Programme with more than 200 students and 15 teachers of Government U G High School Phulapokhari.

Human-wildlife conflicts have emerged as a pressing global challenge, particularly in the wake of rapid habitat fragmentation, climate change, and expanding human settlements. Addressing these conflicts requires a nuanced understanding of ecological, socio-economic, and cultural dimensions. The program aspires to provide a platform for academic discourse and creative engagement, bridging scientific inquiry with visual narratives to inspire innovative solutions for harmonious coexistence.

As part of the event, a Photography Competition will be conducted to encourage participants to document the dynamic interactions between humans and wildlife. The competition invites photographic submissions that depict various aspects of human-wildlife interface, including conflicts, coexistence, and conservation efforts. The visual representations are expected to provoke critical reflections on the underlying causes of conflicts and the need for inclusive conservation strategies.

In addition, a Documentary Screening will showcase thought-provoking visual narratives that delve into human-wildlife conflict scenarios from both global and local perspectives. The documentary screening will be followed by an interactive discussion session, providing an opportunity for participants to engage in critical conversations on the ecological, social, and ethical dimensions of human-wildlife interactions.

World Wildlife Day 2025 Event in Iran – Innovation Comes to the Aid of Wildlife

On March 3, 2025 (13 Esfand 1403), Iran will host a special event in celebration of World Wildlife Day, focusing on the theme “Innovation Comes to the Aid of Wildlife.” This event will highlight the Iranian cheetah, one of the most endangered species, and explore innovative solutions for wildlife conservation and biodiversity protection.

The event will bring together experts, researchers, environmental technology startups, and governmental and non-governmental organizations to discuss the role of cutting-edge technologies, artificial intelligence, data analysis, and innovative methods in monitoring, conserving, and restoring wildlife habitats.

Key components of the event include scientific lectures, expert panels, an exhibition of new technologies in wildlife conservation, and hands-on workshops. Additionally, successful national and international projects dedicated to protecting the Iranian cheetah and other endangered species will be showcased.

This event provides a unique opportunity for knowledge exchange and collaboration among environmental enthusiasts, innovation leaders, and policymakers. By leveraging modern technology, we aim to create a more sustainable future for Iran’s wildlife and global biodiversity.

It starts with understanding why wildlife matters and how we can contribute as young advocates. Registering a local event with wildlifeday.org; 2. Holding a participatory science based observational walk on March 3rd, at and around the Arcadia Ecohome, a Certified Wildlife Habitat and a Certified Pollinator Habitat, located at Arcadia, California, to watch and record what we see, and at the same time engaging yard works of maintaining and enhancing the wildlife friendly features, including those supporting climate resiliency and biodiversity, that have been incorporated in the Ecohome’s naturescspe; and 3. Sharing and spreading our actions online on iNaturalist and social medias such as Facebook so as to raise public awareness of this international campaign and what we've done as concerned conservation professionals.
